Spider Cannibalsm. Revised assignment.

When you think about spider cannibalism, the first thing that comes to your mind is the strong male since in the human society males are portrayed as overpowering, while females are viewed as weak and helpless. The word "male" is the loanword from Latin "malediction" that means "evil". It is usually viewed as muscular and strong when applied to a plant, animals, or the human being. "Female" is a Latin word that means "woman". It is the irony that when we split the word "female" we can get "iron man" because "Fe" in Latin stands for iron, and "male" represents a man. Unfortunately the society doesn't see females as strong as males. It doesn't matter who we are talking about, an animal or a human being; women are always viewed as a weaker sex incapable of things that man can do. Spider cannibalism completely changes that idea.

Females spiders kill and eats the male during or after courtship and mating. Male spiders took care of their nests. "Males of many species adjust their activities among mating, nest guarding, and feeding depending upon the size and age of their brood. A male may shift from the mating to the parental phase once an appropriate number of eggs have been deposited in his nest." There is role reversal of the traditional human male-female relations. Female spiders are strong so they take the role of a human male, while the spider male takes place as a human female. The female spider uses the male to get fertilized, and when she doesn't need her mate, she eats him, sometimes in the most horrendous way possible. She stabs the male many times and then tightens him in the web to make him suffer. Similar thing may be applied to humans, except for the physical murder we like to see that people that hurt us suffer. It brings us a sense of release and revenge. Female spiders show that they also like to see males suffering and from their behavior we know that that is their attitude towards males. Both in a spider and human worlds we might not like each other as male and female but we still need each other in order to continue the circle of life.

Looks can be deceiving. On the outside female can look like pretty and easy to hurt, just like a flower. However, there might be the soul of a devil hidden inside that flower. Females can look small and helpless but it might turn out that they are stronger than males and they show their strong side in the difficult situation. The nature created woman to be strong, and a woman is able to handle almost anything, from work to house chores, childbirth and being the provider of care for the children. Female spiders and female human beings share something in common. If the female spider or human sense danger coming toward their family, they will do anything to protect their offspring.

Spiders are small, but strong, even though the way they kill doesn't sound harsh. "First I dive at him. Next I wrap him up. Now I knock him out, so he'll be more comfortable.... flies, bugs, grasshoppers, choice beetles, moths, butterflies, tasty cockroaches, gnats, midgets, daddy long legs, centipedes, mosquitoes, crickets - anything that is careless enough to get caught in my web."(p. 37-39)
Despite this gentle way of killing, spiders, who are perceived as small and helpless, can be as strong and powerful as the one who is twice their size. However, when it comes to female and male spiders, there is a bit of controversy in their size since the female spider is usually bigger than male. It all becomes unimportant because the big and heavy elephant is afraid of a spider.

My reason why narrator went insane. Revised assignment.

Would the narrator still have gone insane if she had been confined to another room then nursery? Why or Why not?

The narrator had been diagnosed with a nervousness depression before she was placed into a nursery room. The nursery just make her feel worse. It is the design of the nursery room the yellow wall paper that was ripped, the floor was scratched, and the furniture were nailed to the floor. Narrator feels that the nursery room is attacking her and the way the room looks makes you more depressed." On a pattern like this, by daylight, there is a lake of sequence, a defiance of law, that is constant irritant to a normal mind. The color is hideous enough, and unreliable enough, and infuriating enough, but the pattern is torturing. You think you have mastered it, but just as get well underway in following, it turns a back- somersault and there you are. It shapes you in the face , knocks you down and trample upon you." (Perkins Gilman,p.653)
At the beginning of the story, it is not clear is the narrator is insane or not. It was obvious she was ill and that nursery room can trigger her illness toward the insanity. The doctor who also  is her husband had " prescribed"  her medicine and to lay down in the bed, sometimes she was walking in the garden but she was not allowed to write or do any physical activity. This inactivity could have been sufficient to cause a mental breakdown even if she haven't been ill in the first place. When the narrator described how the nursery room and especially the yellow wall paper she said " the color is hideous enough" she didn't like the color of the wall paper, it disgusted her.  The patterns that was on the wall was " torturing" by this description we can tell that the yellow wall paper suppress the narrator as she says"normal mind". Even though the room looks that it is in  okay condition for her husband she didn't feel comfortable in there. One good thing about the nursery room is that it has a lot of sunlight coming through the window. But in the other way the sunlight made nursery look masteries “ On a pattern like this, by daylight, there is a lake of sequence, a defiance of law” this is the way narrator described the room. By reading that quote it makes me think that sunlight that make shadows and patterns  on the yellow wallpaper was one of the things that was torturing her. The the shadows that she saw looked “hideous” and it made more stressed out.
Most of the time the narrator spends her time in the nursery room alone because her husband is always away. She had nothing to do so she began to study the wallpaper in details pattern by pattern. After a while being in the nursery room and studying the yellow wallpaper narrator though she knows every pattern there but when the "daylight" comes it make everything look different. She describes  light that come through the window as the physical action that made her feel like someone is attacking her. " It slaps you in the face, knocks you down and trample upon you"  in this sentence she describes the yellow wallpaper as angry or oven violent person. But there were nothing she always sees her shadow on the wallpaper. The woman that was ill left in this old and not in a good condition room. The inactivity and there were no person she could really talk to that will listen to her without telling that she ill and everything is okay with her and the house. Some people may say that the yellow wallpaper had nothing to do with the narrator going insane. I think that the nursery room and the yellow wallpaper serves as an obvious catalyst for her mental deterioration, but we do not know if it is merely a symptom of her insanity or the cause.

Spiders behavior and the circle og life.

This shows that female spiders are strong and they ported as the human male when the spider male took place as human female. Male spiders took care of their nests. "Males of many species adjust their activities among mating, nest guarding, and feeding depending upon the size and age of their brood. A male may shift from the mating to the parental phase once an appropriate number of eggs have been deposited in his nest."The female spider use the male to get fertilized after that she doesn't need male and she eats. Some of the females spiders cannibalism stab the male many times and then tighten them in the web to make them suffer. Sometimes to see the one that hurt you suffering make you feel released. but this feeling is come for humans. Female spiders show that they also like to see male suffering and we know that by their behavior towards males. We might not like each other like male and female but we still need ch other in order to continue the circle of life.
Female can look like flower outside all that pretty and easy to hurt but she has the soul of a devil that is hidden inside that flower. They can look small and helpless but it might turn out that they are stronger than males. they show their strong side in the difficult situation. The mother nature create woman(female) strong that would be able to handle anything females do many things at the time ex. work, housework, children and etc. This was an example of the human female  but spider had a little difference in their actions from human. If the female spider or human sense danger that come toward their family they will do anything to protected.Spider small but strong, and the way they kill doesn't sound harsh all the time. 37-39) Something that is viewed as small and helpless can be as strong as the one who is thought to be much bigger. However, when it comes to spiders there is a controversy in the size since the female spider is bigger than male. It all becomes unimportant because the big and heavy elephant is afraid of spider.

Blue Whale largest in the world mammal that still need our help to survive. :))))

                         Literary work: “Largest thing alive,
                                                  Still need your help,
                                                  To survive… “

Scientific resource:
“The blue whale is the largest mammal that has ever inhabited the earth. It attains a mature length of 70-85 ft (21-26 m) and has been recorded as long as 106 ft (32 m). The weight can range from 90-150 tons (81-136 metric tons). It has a U-shaped snout and 80-100 throat furrows. The dorsal fin is small and set far back on its streamlined body. “

"Blue Whale." Beacham's Guide to the Endangered Species of North America. Ed. Walton Beacham, Frank V.Castronova, and Suzanne Sessine. Vol. 1: Mammals, Birds, Reptiles. Detroit: Gale, 2000. 114-115. Gale Virtual Reference Library. Web. 10 Nov. 2014.

The blue whale is the biggest mammal in the world. The first things that comes to mind when you hear blue whale are the ocean monster that going to eat you when you will see it. People have wrong association with whales. Big doesn’t mean scary and harmful. The blue whale is the largest mammal in the world but they hurt us less then we them. People kill blue whale even though they are so large 106 ft long when the average height of man is 5’ 11”  twenty times smaller than a whale. Blue whales are big but they need our help to survive. The symbol that blue whale brings that large is not scary we shouldn’t judge anyone by the way they look.

The Yellow Wallpaper

2) Explain the relationship between the narrator and her husband, John. How this relationship affects the narrator?

Narrator has difficult relationship with her husband John. John never understands her and he didn't let her to do anything. When the narrator asked her husband to take off the wall papers and “ he laughs at me so about this wall - paper.”  John thought that she is being overwhelmed that there is nothing in this wall paper but she sees weird figures in this painting that give her a “suicidal thoughts. “ Most of the time John tried to be nice to the narrator but most of the time he doesn't look at the narrator as his wife but as his patient. He told her  not to write, work or talk to people outside “He say that with my imaginative power and habit of  story-making, a nervous weakness like mine is sure to lead to all manner of excited fancies,”The narrator has to hid her writing from her husband John because she doesn't want him to be upset or get angry. He usually gets angry when she do thing that he told her not to do. Narrator relationship with her husband is like a doctor and a patient. John take good care of the narrator but throughout the  description that the narrator give it there were no sign of love from John to narrator. She spends days alone writing and thinking about things that not even there. As the lady that she saw on that yellow wall paper.

The way narrator husband John treated her make her feel alone. She couldn't say anything to him because she feel thankful for things he does for her:" he takes all care from me, and so I feel basely ungrateful not to value it ·more." This feeling of thankfulness toward John for taking care of her while she sick with nerves depression. She does everything he told her, but there is one thing she does that John doesn't want her to do, she writes. She thinks that : " congenial work, with excitement and change, would do me good" would make her to feel better because she has something to do, and not only sit in the nursery room and look through the window. In writing she can express her feelings about the house because John doesn't want to listen her He things that narrator imagine things that not there.John was always away so she had no one to talk to and even when he is back he doesn't want to listen things that she said. He only care about her health, but he didn't realized that in order for her to get better she need to talk to some one. That why she begin to see those shadows or as she called "ghost on the yellow wall-paper." In the end she went insane.
